A preliminary magnitude-3.6 earthquake was reported near Indio after a day of shaking in the Riverside County community. The quake was one of dozens in the area over the past 24 hours, the strongest of which was of magnitude-4.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a preliminary 2.3 magnitude quake shook near Cambria Wednesday night.

The biggest, a 4.9 magnitude tremor, struck the same area one day ago.
