The Edmonton Oilers are facing a crossroads of sorts. With Tristan Jarry back to full health, they are currently riding a three-goalie tandem in Jarry, Connor Ingram, and Calvin Pickard.
Leon Draisaitl is expected to return later this week after taking a leave to return to his family home in Cologne, Germany, on Friday due to what the team described as “a family illness,” according to head coach Kris Knoblauch.
The Edmonton Oilers, at full strength, have the incredible offensive tandem of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. At least for a little while, though, they'll be without Draisaitl. The Oilers announced Saturday that Draisaitl is leaving the team temporarily. Draisaitl is away from Edmonton to attend to a family matter.

Before the injury, Jarry had only made three starts for Edmonton, and he remains unbeaten with the Oilers. Edmonton, meanwhile, has posted a 5–5 record during his absence, relying on Connor Ingram and Calvin Pickard to share duties in net.
